Sharon Mutizira is a dual-qualified lawyer who effortlessly combines extensive expertise in Intellectual Property (IP) with a wide range of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) skills. Based in Dubai, she is the founder and consultant of SURDEN Legal, a consultancy specialising in customised brand protection and efficient dispute resolution strategies. Sharon is committed to helping founders, businesses, individuals, and charities proactively protect what matters and resolve disputes quickly and fairly by leading with empathy, respecting cross-cultural sensitivities, and providing expert guidance for clear, strategic, and lasting solutions. Her educational background includes an LLB (Hons) Law Degree (1st) from the University of Hertfordshire, followed by the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP Law School. She further specialised in IP through a Trade Mark Law and Practice PGCert from Queen Mary, London, and obtained a Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice from Nottingham Law School.

Sharon is an Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator with ADR ODR International, having completed her training in June 2025. She is also a Digital Dispute Resolution Specialist (DDRS™), having successfully obtained the relevant diploma in June 2025. Further enhancing her ADR qualifications, she is an ADR ODR International Associate Arbitrator and a Certified Negotiator. Her expertise in both traditional and online dispute resolution, combined with her experience in contentious IP proceedings at leading firms such as Bird & Bird and Withers LLP, makes her highly capable of managing conflicts and achieving pragmatic, client-focused outcomes. She has observed shuttle mediation and is always seeking further opportunities to mediate or co-mediate.

Sharon is a CMC Associate Mediator with the Civil Mediation Council in the UK and a member of WIPO ADR Young at the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
