Khansaa Mohammed
Dr. Khansaa Mohammed Jasim Al-Qayyim is the Founding Dean of the College of Law at the American University of Iraq–Baghdad (AUIB), where she currently serves as Dean. She is a Professor of Public and International Law and a practicing lawyer. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Law from Al-Nahrain University and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in international law from the University of Baghdad.
Dr. Jasim is a leading scholar in public and international law and the first researcher in the Middle East to conduct an extensive study on the fragmentation of international law. Her research interests include international law, investment law, labor and social security law, international humanitarian law, and contemporary legal challenges. She served as the university’s legal advisor for more than three years and has worked as a legal consultant with international organizations including UNICEF, the ILO, and UNDP. Dr. Jasim is a member of the American Society of International Law, the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict, a member of the Committee for Developing the National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition – Iraq, and a member of the Iraqi National Council for Accreditation of Law School Programs.
She is actively engaged in legal education reform and international moot court training.
