The ADR Initiative (ADRi)
The ADR Initiative (ADRi) is a Lahore-based alternative dispute resolution platform working to integrate mediation, arbitration and negotiation into Pakistan's legal and commercial life. Established in 2019, it introduced Pakistan's first commercial mediation courses and, in 2025, was recognised by the International Mediation Institute (IMI) as a Certified Mediation Training Provider. Its flagship Civil & Commercial Mediation Training is IMI-accredited, delivered online and in person, and taught by an international faculty of master trainers. ADRi has trained hundreds of mediators and, with the support of The Asia Foundation, created Pakistan's first Roster of Mediators.
Beyond training, ADRi provides mediation and arbitration services to commercial clients and has helped shape ADR policy in Pakistan: leading the USAID-supported roadmap and rules for the Trade Dispute Resolution Organisation (TDRO Act 2023), contributing to the legislative review of the Commercial Courts Ordinance 2021, and training commercial court judges at the Punjab Judicial Academy. Through its MoU with The Mediation Hub MENA, professionals and students across the MENA region can access ADRi's internationally recognised mediator training at discounted rates, and MENA-based participants and ADRi alumni receive a complimentary one- year membership of The Mediation Hub MENA.
