Gayathry Raveendran

Gayathry Raveendran is a seasoned intellectual property (IP) professional, patent agent, trademark attorney, and advocate with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in engineering and law. With deep expertise in patent strategy, trademark protection, IP enforcement, and international legal frameworks, she is widely recognized for her ability to bridge technical innovation with legal and commercial objectives. In addition, she serves as an External Committee Member under the POSH Act, 2013, and has developed an advanced 125-question framework to assess organisational compliance, legal processes, and behavioural sensitivity in workplace safety investigations.

Gayathry holds multiple academic degrees that reinforce her dual mastery of technology and law. She is currently pursuing an LL.M. in International Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of London. She previously earned her LL.B. (Hons.) in Intellectual Property Law from the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law at IIT Kharagpur. Her legal credentials are complemented by a Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and a Bachelor of Technology (M. Tech) from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

As a registered Indian Patent Agent (INPA 5486), Trademark Attorney (Registration No. 44033), and Advocate (Bar Council of Delhi, D/8351/2023), and a professional experience of more than 3 years in the intellectual property and corporate law., Gayathry has represented a wide range of domestic and international clients in complex IP matters. Her legal practice includes patent drafting and prosecution, IP portfolio management, trademark oppositions, and due diligence in transactional IP contexts. She has a strong focus on IP commercialisation and policy alignment, particularly in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, software, electronics, and consumer technology.

In parallel with her legal practice, Gayathry is actively involved in arbitration and mediation. She has undertaken specialised training through the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre and is engaged in institutional forums including Young AIAC, MCIA, DIS40, and LCIA's Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG). Her focus lies in resolving intellectual property, licensing, and technology disputes through neutral forums, and she is developing a practice that integrates alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms with innovation-driven industries. Gayathry is affiliated with a wide network of professional organisations that reflect her international orientation and subject matter depth.

Her written contributions span both academic and practice-oriented domains. She is the author of “Quality Control Challenges in Geographical Indication in India,” published in the International Journal of Law Management & Humanities, and “IPR and Commercialization of the Sports Sector,” published in the anthology Play and Prejudice – A Panoramic View on Sports Law Governance and Regulation. She is currently preparing a forthcoming book chapter on “Artificial Intelligence and Patent Law: Global Policy Shifts in the Age of Generative Tech”.Committed to both practice and pedagogy, Gayathry is transitioning into her practise in Middle East by joining Jitendra Intellectual Property based in Dubai with a focus on IP law, arbitration and mediation, and international legal governance.
