Emily Aryeetey

Emily Aryeetey is a CEDR-accredited workplace and employment mediator and an employment law partner at Stephenson Harwood Middle East LLP in Dubai. She is qualified in England and Wales and advises across the UAE and wider GCC.

With over 15 years' experience in employment law, Emily advises on complex workplace conflict at every level, including senior executive exits, partnership disputes, workplace investigations, discrimination and harassment matters, whistleblowing concerns, and employment litigation under UAE, DIFC, ADGM and English law. Her deep understanding of workplace dynamics and the interests of the parties involved in workplace disputes informs her approach as a mediator.

Emily has represented parties as legal counsel in mediations of employment disputes across multiple forums, including judicial mediations in the English Employment Tribunal and through the DIFC Courts, as well as private commercial mediations involving challenging and sensitive negotiations. This gives her a dual perspective on the mediation process in terms of understanding what parties and their lawyers need from a mediator as well as how to manage the process effectively. She has acted as mediator in a sensitive, high-value pre-arbitration dispute involving a partner-level exit at a professional services firm, which subsequently settled.

Emily's mediation practice focuses on disputes where workplace relationships, reputation, governance or interpersonal dynamics are central to resolution. Her areas of particular interest include discrimination and harassment complaints, senior executive conflicts, partnership and boardroom disputes, founder disputes, whistleblowing matters, and commercial disputes with a significant people or relationship dimension.
